Frosty Fruit
A fruity ice-cube block puzzle game for Android
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Frosty Fruit: Block Puzzle ("the game") handles information when you play it on Android. Frosty Fruit is a block puzzle game in which you drag fruity ice pieces into an ice-cube tray and fill rows and columns to clear them. The game is developed and published by Soluease ("we" or "us"), which is responsible for the data described below. The game displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
In short:
- The game does not need an account, and it does not ask for your name, email address, contacts or location.
- Your scores and play statistics are kept on your device.
- Anonymous gameplay statistics may be sent to us to tune the game, but only where Google's ad consent rules allow it.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects its own data under Google's policies.
- Notifications are optional. If you allow them, Google Firebase delivers our game news and event messages.
- Pieces are not dealt purely at random: the game adapts how pieces are dealt to the way you play.
2. Information We Process
Information Stored on Your Device
The game keeps the following in your device's local storage:
- Your best score, the game in progress and your sound setting
- Play statistics: games played, recent scores, session times, revives used and ads viewed
- A random player ID, created the first time you open the game. It is not linked to your name or to any account.
- Whether you have answered the rating prompt
- A copy of the latest game-tuning models the game has downloaded, so it works offline. These models contain no data about you.
Gameplay Data That May Be Sent to Us
The game may upload anonymous gameplay events to our server. This only happens when we have turned data collection on, and only when Google's consent rules allow ads to be requested on your device. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, that means after you respond to the consent message shown when the game starts. The uploaded events can include:
| Data | Examples |
|---|---|
| Identifiers | Random player ID, session ID, experiment group |
| Gameplay | Scores, lines cleared, moves, game and session length, how pieces were dealt |
| Ads | Ads shown (including banners), whether you watched a rewarded ad, the revenue AdMob reported for each ad |
| Prompts | Your answer to the rating prompt, and which kind of notification you opened |
| Device | Platform, a rough device class based on processor cores and memory, local hour of day |
We do not collect your location, advertising ID, contacts, photos or anything you type.
Advertising Information
The game shows a Google AdMob banner along the bottom of the screen while you play, full-screen ads between some games, and an optional ad you can watch to continue a game. Without an internet connection the game still works, without ads.
In connection with showing and measuring ads, Google may collect and use device identifiers, such as your device's advertising ID, and other information. What is collected can vary based on your device settings, region and consent choices.
Notifications
After you have played a couple of games, the game asks whether it may send you notifications. If you allow them, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging gives your device a delivery token and subscribes it to our news topics: game updates, events and announcements. We send the same messages to everyone. The token is not linked to your player ID, and the game does not upload it. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, including for each kind of notification separately.
Ratings
After you set a new best score, the game may suggest rating it. Rate Us opens the game's page on Google Play, where any review you leave is handled by Google. The game only remembers, on your device, whether you answered, so that it doesn't ask too often.
3. How Information Is Used
Information may be used to operate the game, tune it, and show and measure ads. In particular, gameplay data is used to build predictions of how likely you are to keep playing, how likely you are to watch a rewarded ad to continue a game, and the ad revenue you are likely to generate. These predictions are made on your device, and they change the game in the following ways:
- Piece dealing: sometimes the game deals pieces that make clearing lines easier. Later in a game, it sometimes deals pieces that cannot all be placed, so the game ends sooner. When a game ends you may choose to watch an ad to continue, but you never have to.
- Difficulty: experienced players get tougher pieces, and new and returning players get easier ones.
- Ad timing: when and how often a full-screen ad appears between games.
One in ten players is placed in a comparison group whose pieces are dealt without these adjustments, so that we can check the adjustments make the game better.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Information stored on your device stays there until you delete it. To delete it, open Privacy policy from the game's menu or pause menu and tap Delete data on this device. Your scores and the game in progress will be lost, and a new player ID is created the next time you play. You can also clear the game's data in your device settings, or uninstall the game.
We keep uploaded gameplay events for 12 months, then delete them. To have your uploaded data deleted sooner, email us your player ID (see Contact Us below). Your player ID is shown under Privacy policy in the game's menu.
Information collected through Google AdMob and Firebase is held by Google under its own retention practices, so we are not able to delete it on your behalf. You can reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device settings (on most Android devices, under Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
5. Third-Party Services
Frosty Fruit uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob: Shows and measures ads, as described above. Where required, the game asks for your consent when it starts, and you can change your choice later from Ad choices in the game's menu or pause menu. Google's handling of information is governed by its own privacy policy and terms, including how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: Delivers notifications if you allow them. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
- Google Play: Handles any rating or review you leave on the game's store page.
6. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the game. Information handled by Google AdMob and Firebase is also subject to Google's security practices. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Children's Privacy
Frosty Fruit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Parents and guardians can manage device-level privacy and advertising settings. Google's own services are also subject to Google's privacy terms.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
